Question 3  1.      When I originally started this project, I already had a photography background as I have enjoyed it as a hobby for many years, and I had prior editing experience. Although I was already experienced before starting, I have had very valuable lessons throughout this entire process of creating my magazine. I started with very simplistic pictures that didn’t suit my individual aesthetic, and that I didn’t feel would suit the feeling I wanted to be associated with my magazine either. When having my models at the photoshoot, I quickly learned that I would need to direct them in what way to pose so that I could end up with an image I would like, which I didn’t do originally. At the second shoot, I became more comfortable in directing my models which is something I think helped to establish good photos which are the basis of a magazine. Question 1  1.      Throughout the initial creation of my magazine, I knew I wanted something that would both use, and challenge conventions as we know them today. In my preliminary research when gaining insight on other magazines, I noticed a common theme of how others challenged conventions. Every one of the magazines were interested in being ‘different’ than their predecessors and had quite odd cover photos which set the stage for the content inside. 2.      One of the main focuses of mine when challenging a common convention was my cover page. I liked how in other magazines such as Dazed, and Dansk, they had very simple covers where the model and the photo was the sole focus. What I didn’t appreciate about magazines like Seventeen and Vogue, was how cluttered I feel their covers were.
