Feedback and Revisions

Some of the feedback I recieved from presenting my midterm were just simple things here and there that could help to polish up my article and my cover page just a little bit. Since I only had the pictures in my magazine from the two photo shoots, my peers said that I needed to have a little bit more variety in the pictures I was using. So I decided that I'd schedule a few extra shoots for these upcoming weeks so that I can get the models in different outfits and possibly at a few different locations. Another thing was that the photo on my cover page was good and interesting with the setup and the lighting of it. The only problem was that it was too grainy, so I am going to take the original photo and edit it so that it doesn't come out as fuzzy. Another thing I am going to change is the layout of my two page article. I was looking back over it and seeing how closely it resembled an actual published magazine while still holding its uniqueness. I noticed it doesn't look as sl...

Photo Shoot #2

Photo Shoot #1

These are some of the best photos I chose from the couple hundred I took at the first shoot. I think the composition of some of them are nice and fit with the overall aesthetic of my magazine that I am going for.

Scheduling Interviews/ Developing Questions

The person I am thinking of interviewing is someone named Arath Flores. He is one of the individuals who was in a recent fashion show. I think he is going to be a good addition to my article because as he has experience in the real fashion industry, and he has a reputation for his good sense of style, he will execute my aims nicely. As he is going to be one of my photography models on the December shoot, him and I decided that we could do the interview on the same day in order to save both of us some time. I have come up with some potential questions I may ask him which I have listed below. I'm not sure if an interview is really what I want to add into this specific article, because in the one I am posting, I am just talking about general fashion tastes. 1. What got you so interested in fashion? 2. What are the top suppliers you get your clothes from? 3. How would you suggest somebody create their own sense of style? 4. What are some of your favorite simple accessories that...

Use of Conventions

My magazine goes against the stigma surrounded by being different and unique, and what some people would consider weird. It supports peoples individuality and the idea of creating your own persona that is special to you. When I am talking about customizing things and the current trends, I attempt to encourage the reader to create their own view of themselves that they are able to express through their clothing that they wear. The entire genre of fashion magazines with big brand names such as Vogue or Beauty Insider are surrounded by the celebrity fashions of their day- to- day life and even their red carpet looks. I want to go outside of just the celebrity's styles and go into the lives of average individuals that aren't known for the clothes they wear, but are still creating their own sense of style simultaneously. My magazine is promoting the differences of individuals, and showing just how much fashion can vary.
