Scouting Photoshoot Locations

There are a lot of different places in my local area that have different looks. I want to get a good variety of images to put into my magazine instead of just having photos from one singular location. There is a garden behind New College of my hometown which exhibits great lighting, and I have already held previous photo shoots there so I know they come out excellent. Also only about an hour drive away is downtown St Petersburg and they have a lot of amazing graffiti work on a lot of their buildings as many businesses commission artists to paint on their walls. The picture below is from a previous photo shoot at the garden behind New College in my local area. There are also plenty of plain white walls that I am able to use at my school.

Scheduling Photo Shoot's

As I have some friends who I consider to be quite fashionable and who have actually been models in fashion shows, I think I am going to schedule a few different shoots with them. I am set to have one in St Petersburg on December 15th. I talked to my models and they all agreed that that would be a good day to do it, and they will be available. I have had to do a lot of back and forth with my potential models to see if they have open days that will be able to align with both of our schedules. It is also determinant on how the weather will be during those days as well. All of the models I am recruiting have very different looks about that. Some of them have rougher looks as in they exclusively wear all black and maintain the gothic stereotype. Others are very soft and wear light colors, and have a very feminine look about them. I was very strategic in choosing who I wanted to add photos of because as I said before, I want my magazine to have a different look about it. Instead of just havi...

Flat Plan

All of my articles shown in my flat plan are ones that deal with clothing for all different types of individuals which includes accessories, makeup, and more. I added articles in about a plentiful variety of fashion for all people. There are things about children fashion, and mens fashion, while also dealing with different seasons rather than just sticking with one. It gives tips and ideas on current trends for all different personalities and interests which is intended to attract consumers from a wide spectrum. As I had seen in other fashion magazines I have viewed, about half of the piece consisted of ad's which is the same thing I did here. I spread them evenly throughout the magazine so consumers could get a good balance of going from article to ad, and vice versa.

Table of Contents Template

I am using these specific articles and pages because I think those are the most interesting, potential articles that will be showcased through my magazine. They are the most current trends that people in the fashion industry seem to be the most devoted to, therefore, by putting these articles in the table of contents it would have the ability to attract more consumers as these are the main trends and topics of interest currently. The white spaces with the X's are places where I am going to insert pictures of outfits, makeup, or just models in general that will be catching to the eye. I chose these fonts because I wanted it to match the feeling and look of my cover page while having its own look and personality, but simultaneously matching the aura of the front. I filled in the empty spaces of the numbers just as I had done on my cover page with keeps the similarity and unity between the two, contact. I think by adding the colors gives it a little more personality rather than just k...

Cover Design Template

As I have continued to study other fashion magazines, I have recognized that a lot of them have very simple, one-word elegant names such as Vogue , or Dazed . Through looking at previous projects of other students at my school, I noticed a common theme of them all using some version of our city name and the rest of their magazine title such as Sarasota Sports , or SRQ Food . I don't like how unoriginal those titles are and I really wanted something that had the same feel as the other major fashion magazines have such as Vogue. So I started researching 'exotic' words that you don't necessarily see on a day-to-day basis. I created a list of some ones I found interesting and that I thought would suit a fashion magazine of my own. I shortened the list and finally decided on Oblique.  I think it sounds very sleek and lustrous and gives off an almost fancy, chic feeling. Instead of just having the plain lettering like most do, I decided to put a little spin on it and use a g...
